The STORY
David Garvin Jr. and Melani Harris dedicated their lives to serving their community through separate non-profit organizations. By God’s intervention, this has led them to create something truly extraordinary together.

David, a charismatic and driven individual, had always been passionate about helping those in need. From a young age, he witnessed the struggles faced by the less fortunate in his community. Determined to make a difference, David founded "The Humbled Initiative," an organization focused on providing essential resources and support to the homeless population.
Melani, a kind-hearted and empathetic soul, had a deep desire to uplift her community through various community service projects. With this vision in mind, Melani established "The Good Turn". An organization dedicated in giving and serving the Durham community through volunteerism and fundraising.
Inspired by their encounter, David and Melani decided to merge their organizations and create a new nonprofit entity called, "Humility Project". A name that perfectly reflected their shared mission.
The story of David Garvin Jr. and Melani Harris serves as a reminder that when individuals with a shared purpose come together, incredible things can happen. Through their unwavering dedication and a united spirit, they built a non-profit that will become a pillar of support and love for their community. David and Melani's journey exemplifies the power of collaboration, love, and passion for the greater good. Together, they will show that the impact of their actions was far greater than what they could have achieved individually.
